Kramer Bass Guitars

We have a weird sort of fascination with Kramer aluminum neck instruments and their more expensive cousin Travis Bean.  Gary Kramer and Travis Bean worked together to come up with the aluminum neck in 1974.  The Travis Bean guitars and basses had an aluminum neck that extended from a solid aluminum block down the middle of the guitar body.  Gary Kramer left to form his own company a year later and started making bolt on variants of the alumium neck design.  Are they heavy? Yes, but the sound is unbelievable and designs are stunning for  Vintage Kramer Bass  guitars…   owning one is absolutely worth purchasing a heavier duty strap.

      Kramer DMZ 4000

This late '70s Kramer DMZ model 4000 bass has a deceptively basic look that doesn't do justice to its massive tone. The DiMarzio P-Bass style pickup and aluminum neck give this bass fantastic sustain and a solid tone. Perfect for rock, jazz, progressive, fusion, reggae, and any other bass-centric musical styles!

      Kramer DMZ 4001

This Kramer DMZ 4001 is an aluminum-necked bass with a DiMarzio P-Bass style staggered pickup. Wood inserts and an Ebonol fret board give the neck a more familiar type feel and help to combat the coldness of the aluminum. It has a nice woody tone that cut through a mix like nobody's business!
