1963 Fender Jazzmaster
Summary: This lovely 1963 Fender Jazzmaster, a pre-CBS example of Fullerton excellence, features the rich and full sound envisioned to entice jazz players, but ultimately found champions of its offset beauty in surf guitarists and indie rock royalty.
Body: Alder body in Sunburst finish.
Neck: Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard, 25.5” scale length, 1 5/8” nut width, 21 frets, clay dot inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: Original single coil pickups, Kluson tuning keys, floating tremolo system, lead/rhythm circuit switch.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent shape. The original thin nitro lacquer body finish retains good color on the face with minimal fade. The body face and more heavily the edges shows some dings, dents and minor scuffing; the back is more heavily worn with a decent amount of random belt wear. The back of the neck and back have been etched with a few numbers, smoothed from playing, and does not deter or detract from easy playing, and the frets show minimal wear. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in good shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
