1964 Gibson LG-0
Summary: In late 1958 Gibson introduced the Gibson LG-0, this guitar was a very popular guitar amongst students. It was an overall great sounding guitar and outperformed most guitars in its price range. These early LG-0 models were superior in sound and quality; they were fitted with a Brazilian rosewood bridge. This worked well tonally with the solid Mahogany tops. This LG-0 originally had one of the plastic bridges that were being used from 1962 to around 1968. It has since been replaced with a Rosewood bridge and a bone saddle.
Body: Mahogany top/back/sides, tortoise binding.
Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.5” scale length, 1 11/16” nut width, 20 frets total/14 open frets, pearl dot inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: Kluson Deluxe white button tuning keys, tortoise pickguard with screws, bone saddle.
Cosmetics: This guitar has a slight bridge lift. There is noticeable wear on the headstock. It has tons of beautiful finish checking. This guitar has various nicks, dings, and scratches throughout. It appears that someone has refretted this guitar as well. The G string tuning key is slightly bent but still works properly. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds great.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
Modifications: The bridge has been replaced with a Rosewood bridge and bone saddle. This guitar has been refretted.
