From surf rock superstars to show stopping chicken pickers such as Joe Maphis, Mosrite guitar have captured the heart of the quirky and adventurous show person for over half a century. Founded by Semie Mosley in Bakersfield California, Mosrite guitars’ history reads like an Albert King lyric: “if it weren’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all.” Factory fires, bankruptcy, and poor business decisions hindered the company from ever achieving the popularity of the other guitar giants of the time. They remain a beloved niche instrument for the collector or player looking for something a little different.
