1960 Gibson ES-345 Stereo

This cherry finish ’60 Es-345 is in incredible condition and is among the most striking vintage pieces here at Empire.  These 345s were upgraded versions of the popular Es-335 with features such as a Vari-tone rotary switch, Stereo output. and gold hardware being added.  This particular Es-345 was previously owned by New Hampshire Country Music Hall of Fame member and former backing guitarist to Bill Haley “Papa Dell” Al Del Vecchio.  The original Gibson humbuckers sound unbelievable.  The neck is mahogany and sports a bound rosewood fingerboard with parallelogram fret markers.  Features the stop tail tailpiece which is a bit more desirable than the Bigsby’d versions of these.  F.O.N. stamp reads R8022-23.  This guitar is in amazing cosmetic shape with barely a scratch or ding on the entire guitar.  It appears that someone applied lacquer over the fretboard. Generally this was done to enhance the feel of the fretboard and doesn’t have an effect on the tone.  Two of the labels of the knobs (one volume and one tone) have worn off. The gold hardware is a bit worn but still looks sharp.  There is very light crazing going on in the finish. The binding is separating slightly at the base of the neck. The after-market replacement pickguard has light pick scratches. There are a couple light scratches on the back of the headstock. The Stereo Varitone switch has been re-wired at some point but is fully-functional. The orange Gibson paper label is a little bit worn but still holding strong. This is a beautiful vintage guitar that has to be seen to be believed!  Comes with original hard shell case and stereo cable.
