1964 Epiphone Texan FT-79N


Summary: This legendary guitar has a wonderful solid spruce top with lots of character & age – this guitar sounds like it could have been in the studio when the Beatles recorded “Yesterday” in 1964…..

Body: Acoustic sloped shoulder / dreadnought style guitar. This guitar has a solid spruce top with mahogany back & sides.  The top & sides on this guitar are fully bound.

Neck: This guitar has a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard & a replacement rosewood bridge with an adjustable saddle. The frets have been replaced & they did a great job doing it – these frets have a lot of life left in them.

Pickups/Hardware: This instrument has 3-in-line Kluson Deluxe tuning keys and block inlays – this guitar also has the original pickguard with the “E” logo still in tact.

Cosmetics:  This guitar does show lots of wear consistent with a guitar that has been well-played & loved for over 50 years. There is lots of checking throughout this fine guitar and there are lots of dings & scratches on the top. There is a strange sticker on the top & we just left it there. This guitar also has lots of wear around the edges of the headstock & it shows some buckle rash & marks on the back as well.

Playability:  This guitar plays great & has a wonderful tone. This instrument plays with no buzzing or dead spots. We set this guitar up with 12’s and it is ready to roll……

Case: This guitar ships in a chipboard case with lots of bubble wrap.
