Summary: This beautiful old small archtop guitar was built by Framus in 1966 in West Germany. Framus at that time was, besides Höfner, the biggest manufacturer of guitars in West Germany. This is a model 5/51e, which is a small bodied, parlor sized archtop with a single Framus pickup in the neck position.

Body: Archtop body finished in a gloss Sunburst.

Neck: Laminated with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1 5/8” nut width, 21 frets.

Pickups/Hardware: Single Framus pickup in the neck position, tremolo system and tailpiece, individual roller style floating bridge, master volume/master tone control, zero fret, open gear tuning keys.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent condition for an instrument from the ‘60s. It has light surface scratches throughout. It has tons of beautiful checking in the finish. There is light wear around the edges of the top of the body. The back of the neck is clean and smooth, and the frets are in great shape.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Weight: 5.21 lbs.

Case: This guitar ships without a case, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
