Summary: First released in 1969, the Deluxe saw the introduction of the Mini Humbucker to the Les Paul lineup. However, you could special order one with full-size humbuckers and “Standard” specifications. This 1971 Les Paul Deluxe was factory routed for full-size humbuckers. This Deluxe has had its tuning keys replaced and it’s also been refretted. It has a non-original harmonica style bridge, black plastics, and gold top hat control knobs.

Body: Mahogany, pancake body, vintage sunburst finish.

Neck: 3-piece Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1.675” nut width, 22 frets, pearl block inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Two factory full-sized humbuckers, chrome Grover tuning keys (replacements), harmonica style bridge (non-original), black plastics, gold control knobs, stop bar tailpiece.

Cosmetics: This guitar has wear that is consistent with an instrument from the ‘70s that has been gigged and played. It has various nicks, dings, and scuffs. Tons of finish checking. The hardware is tarnishing and holes from original tuning keys are visible. The back of the neck is good shape and most of the fret wear is on the bottom three strings and up to about the 7th fret. Two of the inserts are missing from the bridge (See Photos Please).

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Modifications: Tuning keys have been replaced, non-original harmonica style bridge, refretted.

Weight: 11.015 lbs.

Case: This guitar ships in a non-original Gibson hard-shell case, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
