2017 Fender Jimi Hendrix Monterey Stratocaster
Summary: Jimi Hendrix took the world by storm with his incredible Monterey Pop Festival performance, which he concluded with the sacrificial burning of his now-iconic hand-painted Stratocaster. Destroyed during the fiery culmination of his set, this one-of-a-kind guitar survived only in photos and film. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this milestone in music history, Fender created the limited-edition Jimi Hendrix Monterey Stratocaster. Summoning the same fiery magic Jimi evoked at the Monterey Pop Festival, the Fender Limited Edition Jimi Hendrix Monterey Stratocaster is a faithful recreation of the guitar that set the world on fire and altered the course of rock n' roll.
Body: Alder, Olympic White with custom Monterey Pop artwork.
Neck: Comfortable “C” shape, maple with Pau ferro fingerboard, vintage 7.25” radius, 21 vintage style frets, aged white dot inlays, synthetic bone nut, 1.650” nut width, 25.5” scale length.
Pickups/Hardware: Vintage style 6-screw, 6-saddle vibrato bridge/tailpiece, 3-ply pickguard with printed Monterey Pop artwork, three vintage style single coil Strat pickups, five position pickup selector, one master volume/two tone knobs, hardware is nickel/chrome.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It is very clean. The pickguard has light pick wear.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
