Summary: The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This is the model that Paul Reed Smith first introduced at the winter NAMM in 1985. Played by internationally touring artists, gigging musicians, and aspiring musicians, the Custom 24 features PRS’s patented Gen III tremolo system and PRS 85/15 pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-way blade switch. 85/15 pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith to offer remarkable clarity and extended high and low end. The Custom 24 is the original PRS. Since its introduction, it has offered a unique tonal option for serious players and defined PRS tone and playability.

Body: Mahogany with a Flame Maple Ten top.

Neck: (Standard Profile) Mahogany with an Ebony fretboard and veneer with Bird inlays, 25” scale length, 24 frets, 1.633” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: Gen III tremolo system, PRS 85/15 TCI treble and bass pickups, gold/silver hardware, master volume/tone controls with a five-way pickup selector.

Cosmetics: This guitar has light pick scratches and surface scratches on the top of the body. The back of the body has very light buckle rash and a few tiny dents that can be seen in a reflection. The back of the neck is clean, and the frets show very little signs of play. The back plate for the tremolo system has a few small scuffs on it. Overall, this guitar is in excellent condition and plays and sounds fantastic.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10’s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
