2017 Fender Mustang Bass
Summary: Since its original release in 1964, the Mustang Bass has been one of Fender's most enduring bass designs, finding its way into the hands of bassists ranging from The Rolling Stones to My Chemical Romance. This updated version of the short-scale underground hero adds the power of the P Bass and J Bass pickups to the traditional Mustang design for flexible, thunderous bass tone with smooth playing feel and slick visual style.
Body: Alder with a gloss Sonic Blue finish.
Neck: Maple with a Pau Ferro fingerboard, 30” scale length, 1.5” nut width, 9.5” radius, 19 frets, “C” shape, white dot inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: Vintage-Style Single-Coil Jazz Bass bridge pickup, Vintage-Style Split Single-Coil Precision Bass middle pickup, vintage style tuning keys, medium jumbo frets, synthetic bone nut, tortoise pickguard, 3-way pickup selector, master volume/master tone controls.
Cosmetics: This bass is in excellent condition and shows very little signs of use. The pickguard has regular wear, and the thumb rest has been removed.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of flat wound strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
Modifications: The pickguard has been changed from a mint green to a tortoise pickguard.
