1976 Jose Ramirez 2A Classical Guitar
Summary: This 1976 Jose Ramirez 2A, the Modelo Segovia, is a true gem. Ramirez guitars are prized from performers as diverse as Sting to Segovia, Chet Atkins to Sabicas and Lee Ritenour to Christopher Parkening. The sound is huge with a bright penetrating treble and firm focused bass, very colorful. That famous tone that is thick yet clear, having that essential warm, mysterious and moody quality that made Ramirez famous. An excellent players guitar, simply put, easy to play and great sounding.
Body: Cedar top with Indian Rosewood back and sides in a gloss lacquer finish.
Neck: Mahogany with a Ebony fingerboard, 26” scale length, 2” nut width, 18 frets.
Hardware: Fustero tuning keys, Brazilian Rosewood bridge.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has very light surface scratches on the body. The back of the neck is clean, and the frets show minimal wear.There are slight cracks at the bottom back and small amounts of binding lift at the curves of the bouts (pictured). The back has very light buckle rash. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable.
