Summary: This 1968 Gibson EB-2 is a delightful semi-hollow bass with that classic Gibson 335 shape, featuring a single humbucker on the neck and a shorter scale length. It covers so much ground with it’s balanced tone, loved by Mike Watt, Jermaine Jackson, John Entwistle, & Jack Bruce. 

 

Body: Maple with a Walnut finish.


Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 30.5” scale length, 1.5” nut width, 20 frets, pearl dot inlays.

 

Pickups/Hardware: Gibson humbucking pickup, open key tuning keys, a "Baritone switch" which delivers a brighter sound, a string mute in the bridge.

 

Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches and small indentations on the body, with lovely crazing. The back of the neck is clean, with two scuffs (pictured) and the frets show minimal wear. The back has light buckle rash, and a moved strap button (pictured) Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.

 

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
