Summary: Gurian Guitars was a manufacturer of high-quality acoustic guitars based in New York City, then Hinsdale, New Hampshire and finally West Swanzey, New Hampshire, from the 1960s to 1981. The instruments were designed by luthier Michael Gurian who also supervised production of the instruments bearing his name. The company was one of the earliest "boutique" acoustic guitar makers in the United States, offering an alternative product to those of the larger, factory-based makers of the day, with instruments characterized by a distinctive shape, features and sound. This Gurian S3M has a solid Spruce top with Mahogany back and sides. The Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard are very comfortable and the attention to detail on this instrument is incredible.

Body: Spruce top, Mahogany back/sides.

Neck: Mahogany with an Ebony fingerboard, 20 frets/14 open frets, 1 5/8” nut width, 25.5” scale length.

Pickups/Hardware: Bone nut/saddle, Rosewood bridge, Schaller closed gear tuning keys.

Cosmetics: This guitar has light finish checking on the top of the body. It has a few scratches on the body (See Photos Please). The back of the neck has a few spots where the finish has worn off, and the frets are in great shape. The pickguard has regular pick wear. Overall, this guitar is in great shape and sounds fantastic.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
