This Alvarez MD70 is a great D-28 style guitar. It has a wonderful voice for bluegrass and flatpicking, loud and punchy. This guitar also handles fingerpicking and rhythm playing quite well. Alvarez used the choicest of tone woods when they were building this guitar: Sitka Spruce over East Indian Rosewood, all solid wood construction. The previous owner of this instrument installed an L.R. Baggs HiFi, a great sounding active pickup with built in volume and tone controls.

Body: Solid AAA Sitka Spruce top, solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides, herringbone binding.

Neck: African Mahogany neck, East Indian Rosewood fingerboard, Rosewood headstock veneer.

Hardware: Bone nut and saddle, mother of pearl inlays, Alvarez open gear tuners,

bi-level Indian Rosewood bridge.

Modifications: An L.R. Baggs HiFi pickup was installed before we purchased this instrument. The pickup sounds great and the install looks clean and professionally done.

Cosmetics: Guitar is in excellent condition with light playwear near the picking area. The frets have little play wear and are tall with no divots. There are no dings, dents or major scratches to speak of.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been set up low and comfortable.

Weight: 4 lbs. 5 oz.

Case: This guitar ships with the original Alvarez gigbag, professionally packed for shipping and fully insured.
