Summary: Originally part of Fender's student series-following the Musicmaster and Duo-Sonic-but the Mustang was the first offset to be featured in the range. By the 1990s, the Mustang had become an indie-rock workhorse and could be found in the hands of grunge gods (Kurt Cobain of Nirvana and Mark Arm of Mudhoney), shoegaze innovators (Bilinda Butcher of My Bloody Valentine), & John McCauley (Deer Tick) & John McLaughlin (Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra), and It's remained relevant as a new crop of players discover its sound. are among it’s fans.
Body: Alder with Olympic White finish

Neck: Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24” scale length, 1 5/8” nut width, 22 frets, pearl dot inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Fender single coil pickups, Fender tuning keys, Fender Mustang bridge, original Dynamic Vibrato arm and chrome bridge cover.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches and small indentations on the body. The back of the neck is clean, and the frets show wear consistent with a guitar of this age . The back has light buckle rash, and light finish checking and wear/scuffs around the edges. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
