Summary: The Fender Custom Shop 1958 Journeyman Relic Stratocaster takes you straight back to the instrument's original era, featuring a lightweight alder body with comfortable deep contours and a Relic lacquer finish that imparts the look of years of wear and tear. Sparkling tone comes from three hand wound Fat '50s Stratocaster pickups (reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup) with five-way switching and Vintage Modified wiring for modern versatility. Other premium features include a tinted one-piece quartersawn maple neck with a 1959 large "C"-shaped profile and 9.5" fingerboard radius, 6105 frets, a bone nut, single-ply eggshell pickguard, and vintage hardware. Includes Custom Shop certificate of authenticity and brown textured vinyl case.

Body: Lightweight Alder with a Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

Neck: 1-piece quartersawn Maple with a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, 21 frets, 9.5” radius, 25.5” scale length, 1.650” nut width, 1959 large “C” shape.

Pickups/Hardware: Three hand-wound Fat ‘50s single coil pickups (middle pickup is RWRP), nickel/chrome hardware, bone nut, 5-position pickup selector, master volume/two tone controls, locking tuners.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent condition and plays very well. The frets have light wear on the three high strings up to about the 7th fret.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10’s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Modifications: This guitar has been upgraded with locking tuning keys.
