1975-1977 Ibanez Futura 2469
Summary: This guitar was part of the trio including the 2459 Destroyer, 2469 Futura, and the 2387 Rocket Roll Sr. The 2387CT was introduced by Ibanez in 1975. It was made in Japan by FujiGen. This model is known as the “Futura”. The 2469 features a swoopy, pointy body modeled on the Gibson Moderne. It has a solid ash body mated to a set-in 3-ply maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. It has two Super 70’s humbuckers and gold “Star” tuning keys.
Body: Solid Ash with a gloss finish.
Neck: 3-piece Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1.699” nut width, 22 frets. Pearl dot inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: Two Super 70’s humbuckers, gold “Star” tuning keys, tunomatic bridge/stop bar tailpiece, 2x volume/master tone controls/3-wy pickup selector, white pickguard, gold hardware.
Cosmetics: This guitar has a small indentation in the finish on the top of the body (See Photos Please). The body has a few smaller indentation on the top and back. The back of the neck is in great shape, and the frets show minimal wear. The hardware has started to slightly tarnish. Overall, this guitar is in great shape, and it plays very well.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
