Summary: This Dean Dave Mustaine Rust in Peace VMNT was masterminded by Dave Mustaine in conjunction with Dean’s master guitar builders. The body has the classic VMNT shape and is made of Mahogany with a set Mahogany neck spec’d by Dave himself. Other Rust In Peace features include a 25-1/2″ scale length, Ebony fingerboard, tune-o-matic bridge, Seymour Duncan Dave Mustaine Live Wire active humbucker pickups and the guitar’s string-through-the-body design produces outstanding sustain. The dual volume, single tone, and 3-way switch is the control configuration that Dave prefers. This guitar ships with the Rust In Peace Funko Pop figure, strap and picks.
Body: Mahogany in Rust In Peace finish.
Neck: Mahogany with a Ebony fingerboard, 25.5” scale length 1.68” nut width, 24 frets, sharks tooth inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: Seymour Duncan Dave Mustaine Live Wire active humbucker pickups, Grover mini tuners tuning keys, tune-o-matic bridge, black dome knobs.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches and small indentations on the body. The back of the neck is clean, and the frets show minimal wear. The back has light buckle rash. There is a chip (pictured) in the V tip on one side. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
